Ingredients of FORTAMOX 750mg
Amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to Amoxicillin anhydrous: 875mg
Potassium clavulanate: Avicel (1:1) equivalent to clavulanic acid 125 mg
Excipients: Croscarmellose sodium, Crospovidone, Magnesium stearate, Colloidal silicon dioxide, Hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose 15 cP, Polyethylene glycol 6000, Titanium dioxide.

Uses – Indications of FORTAMOX 750mg

Treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria:

Ear, nose and throat infections: tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media
Lower respiratory tract infections: acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia – bronchi
Genitourinary tract infections: cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, female genital tract infections
Skin and soft tissue infections: boils, abscesses, wound infections
Bone and joint infections
Other infections: abortion-associated infections, obstetric bacteremia, intra-abdominal infections

Contraindications when using FORTAMOX 750mg
Hypersensitivity to the drug components or antibiotics of the penicillin group, cephalosporin
History of gastrointestinal disease, especially ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease or antibiotic-associated colitis
History of jaundice or liver dysfunction
Dosage – How to take the drug
How to use: Take the medicine before or after meals
Dosage: Dose calculated according to Amoxicillin
Adults and children over 40 kg: the usual dose is 1 tablet (250mg/50mg) x 3 times/day.
Children under 40 kg: 20-40 mg/kg/day, divided into 3 oral doses/day, depending on the degree of infection.
The drug should be used for at least 2-3 days after the clinical symptoms have resolved.
The drug should not be used for more than 14 days without re-examination.
Patients with renal impairment: dosage (calculated according to amoxicillin content) should be adjusted based on creatinine clearance:
ClCr < 10 mL/min: 250 – 500 mg/24 hours, depending on severity of infection.
ClCr 10 – 30 mL/min: 250 – 500 mg/ 12 hours, depending on severity of infection.
Hemodialysis: 250 – 500 mg/24 hours, depending on the severity of the infection and 1 additional dose during and after each dialysis period.
Special note and caution when using the drug
With caution in patients with liver dysfunction, renal failure
Side effects of medications
Common: diarrhea, pruritus, rash.
Uncommon: nausea, vomiting, eosinophilia, rash, hepatitis and cholestatic jaundice, increased transaminases.
Rare: slight increase in SGOT, agitation, irritability, anxiety, anaphylactic reactions, Quincke’s edema, mild thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, hemolytic anemia, pseudomembranous colitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, erythema multiforme, exfoliative dermatitis, toxic epidermal necrolysis, interstitial nephritis.
Inform your doctor about any unwanted effects you may experience while using the drug.

Drug interactions
The drug may prolong bleeding and clotting time.
The drug can reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, so patients should be warned.
Probenecid reduces the renal tubular excretion of the drug
Nifedipine increases the absorption of amoxicillin.
Amoxicillin reduces the excretion of methotrexate, increases toxicity on the gastrointestinal tract and hematopoietic system.
Concomitant use with allopurinol: increased risk of allergic skin reactions.
Chloramphenicol, macrolides, sulfonamides and tetracyclines may interfere with the bactericidal effect of amoxicillin.
Missed dose and treatment
Take as soon as you remember the dose, do not double the dose
Drug overdose and treatment
In case of overdose, stop taking the drug immediately and use supportive measures, possibly causing vomiting, gastric lavage if the overdose is recent.
