Use – Indication
Uses:
Fortamox 625mg is an antibiotic for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria of the lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues. The drug is intended for use in adults and children over 12 years of age.
Point:
Fortamox 625 mg is indicated for use in the following cases:
Lower respiratory tract infection, otitis media, caused by H. influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis producing beta-lactamase.
Skin and skin tissue infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus strains, and laser beta-lactam-producing Klebsiella strains.
Urinary tract infections caused by Escherichia coli, Enterococcus strains, and Klebsiella strains that produce laser beta-lactams.
Usage – Dosage
How to use:
Fortamox 625 mg should be taken with at least 30-50ml of filtered water, preferably boiled and cooled water.
Avoid using the drug with carbonated water, alcohol, beer, milk.
It is best to take the medicine after meals.
Do not chew or crush the medicine to avoid losing its effectiveness.
Dosage:
Usual dose for adults and children ≥ 12 years old (weight ≥ 40 kg) with severe infections: 1 tablet every 8 hours.
For children < 12 years old (weight < 40 kg), the product is not suitable for treatment. It is advisable to find a dosage form with a different strength suitable for the therapeutic purpose.
Patients with renal failure:
Creatinine clearance > 30ml/min: Usual dose.
Creatinine clearance from 10-30ml/min: 1 tablet/time/12 hours.
Creatinine clearance < 10ml/min: 1 tablet/time/24 hours.
Hemodialysis patients: 1 tablet/time/24 hours and 1 additional dose during and after each dialysis period.

Contraindications
Fortamox 625 mg is contraindicated in the following cases:
People with a history of allergy to penicillins/cephalosporins or any of the ingredients.
Drug interactions
Amoxicillin if taken with allopurinol increases the risk of allergic skin reactions.
Probenecid reduces the renal tubular elimination of amoxicillin thereby increasing its blood concentration.
Concomitant use of penicillin antibiotics with the antibiotics chloramphenicol, macrolides, sulphonamides and tetracyclines may reduce the effect of penicillin.
The drug may falsify the results of a urine glucose test by a color reaction. High levels of amoxicillin can lower blood glucose levels.
Side effects
Common: Nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, diarrhea, epigastric pain.
Uncommon: Allergic reactions, respiratory disorders, interstitial nephritis, anemia, hematopoietic disorders, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, oral candidiasis, pseudomembranous colitis.
Rare: Anaphylaxis, mild elevation of liver enzymes, liver dysfunction, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, erythema multiforme, toxic epidermal necrolysis, anxiety, insomnia, behavioral disturbances.

Preservation of drugs
Fortamox 625 mg should be stored at a temperature below 30 degrees Celsius.
Store in a cool place, away from direct sunlight.
